My name is Dave Taylor and I was born in Paisley, Scotland. After finishing my education, I decided to indulge my passion for travel. What an adventure that was! I started off working in the entertainment business in South Wales, then on ships cruising around the Mediterranean, with stops in Menorca, Malta and Tenerife before exploring South America.
It was whilst I was working in Spain that I was involved in a serious car accident where the whiplash I suffered caused me to have debilitating neck and back injuries. Conventional doctors helped, but I was still left in near constant pain. It was this pain and my reluctance to be dependent on medication that drove me to seek alternative treatment and how I first encountered the life changing benefits of massage. I was still travelling and went on a mission to find new practitioners in the different countries I stayed in. One therapist I encountered in Greece made such an impact on me that I decided to enrol on his massage course. Learning this new skill was such an enriching experience and it was driven by the realisation that I could help others also to be relieved of pain and tension. The treatments I had experienced made a massive improvement to my condition but the dreaded pain would always eventually return to some degree.
I then discovered Raynor Massage, which incorporates shiatsu, deep tissue, acupressure and reflexology. It works at a deep level, getting to the root of the problem and releasing the tension. After a course of treatments I not only found my neck, back and shoulders to finally be free of pain but I was now calmer and yet more energised.
It was clear to me that this really was a style of massage unlike any I had experienced before and I was determined to learn this particular technique. The course itself was intense but immensely rewarding. I first of all achieved my Raynor Massage Certificate and then studied further to gain my Raynor Massage Diploma.
In September 2010, I enrolled on the advanced course which was taught in London by the founder of this therapy, Brandon Raynor himself. Wow! What a truly amazing experience that was and I am so proud to be one of just a few advanced Raynor Massage therapists working in London.
I was so inspired by the process of learning Raynor Massage and how it lead to an exciting new career for myself that I wanted to be able to share my knowledge with others. My teacher training was intense but qualifying in New Zealand was such a proud achievement. I have already run several training courses and being part of helping others to leave the rat race and start their own business is such a privilege.
Hi I’m Lori McPherson, I grew up near Reading and now live in Walton-on-Thames, having made a few stops in and around London on the way! Having been struck down by glandular fever in my second year at university, my Mum and I looked at all sorts of different therapies to help me get back on my feet. There began my interest in the fascinating world of healing!
After my degree and a year of travelling, I trained in various forms of massage, however, at the time I felt that I was too young to be a therapist. Instead, I moved up to London and got a “proper” job working in the corporate world of I.T. My passion has always been about working with people so despite this looking from the outside like a hugely different career choice, I was able to use my skills to build and manage teams of technical and non-technical people. Something I am very proud of and thoroughly enjoyed doing!
Last year I finally took the decision to leave my job in the city and set up my own therapy business. Yes it was quite scary, but I love what I do now and I can honestly say I haven’t looked back! This is when I first discovered Raynor Massage and Mr Dave Taylor! After a short conversation with Dave, I signed up to his diploma course straight away, what a fantastic training course it was! The Raynor techniques appeal to me on many different levels, bridging across eastern and western modalities and having such a simple remit of initially finding and then removing tension in people’s systems. It is the most powerful form of massage I have come across and really brings everything I have learnt to date into a cohesive bundle. I feel very privileged to have found Raynor Massage and to be working at the clinic in Sutton with Dave now.
I had the privilege of meeting Dave Taylor when we qualified together on the Raynor Massage Advanced Course. Since qualifying I have been working as a deep-tissue massage therapist overseas and nationally around the UK. Recently I was contracted to work for Japanese rock band ‘X Japan’ as massage therapist on their European Tour. I also have a very good relationship with various corporate companies in and around London doing seated massage.
I hope to bring what I have developed and learnt over the many years to Dave's clinic here in Sutton.
